Mahon's First Pheasant Hunt

Mahlon went Pheasant hunting for the first time today. He had a blast, although he says he was a little shocked the first time Dan fired the shotgun. He told me that guns are much louder in person than they are on tv. Very funny!

They ended up with three birds in total. Not a bad for his first time out there.

Apple Hill December 2006

I know that everyone's probably ready to fall over because I'm finally posting again on my Blog...sorry but things have been beyond crazy lately for us, as most of you know. Anyway, we decided to just take the kids out of school and head to Apple Hill yesterday and cut down our tree. It was just gorgeous up there and the kids had a great time. Amazingly, it only took them about 30 minutes to find a tree that they all agreed on...not bad!

I think that they were all doing the "happy dance" once they found their tree!

Mahlon had the honor of sawing the tree down in the end. Good job, buddy!

Shan's Girls Night Out

My sister, Shannon, is getting married in September so we had a casual Girl's Night Out for her up in Napa last week. We went to a winery for some tasting and appetizers and then to Rutherford Grill for a nice dinner. It turned out to be a very nice, low-key evening. She's totally stressed now as time gets closer.

YEAH...School's back!!

I'm sorry that I've been a terrible Blogger lately...a lot going on so once again, I'm just hoping that life starts to gain some normalcy again!! The boys all got off to their first day of school well. They were with their Dad but I had to go up and catch a couple of shots anyway...I tell you this because please excuse their outfits, hair sticking up everywhere and dirty faces!

Connor has almost all of his buds in his class and his choice of teacher, Mr. Nelson. Dear God, good luck Mr. Nelson!!

Sammy got Mahlon's teacher from last year, Mrs. Young. He was very excited. She's very sweet and was a wonderful teacher.

Chance

A friend of ours got a new puppy named Chance. We went to play with him last night. He's just adorable!!

He's already fetching balls. The boys had a great time throwing them into Chance's pool for him to fetch.

Chance is obviously teething...I felt something and looked down to find him gnawing on my skirt! Very cute!!

Tryin' To Stay Cool!!

We had a little pool party today at Steph's to try to stay cool during all these HOT days. Thanks Steph! Trina brought Bonzai Falls, also, so everyone was very busy and had a blast!! Thanks Trina!

Prairie City Bike Race

Steph took the boys, Justin, Connor and Wolfie, to Prairie City for their first bike race. They had a blast, despite the 100+ temperatures! Connor came home with the tenth place ribbon, too, so he was extremely thrilled.

"The Emperor's New Hair"

Mahlon's class did their play today, "The Emperor's New Hair," and Mahlon played the Emperor. They had the chance to choose their top three preferences for roles and I was somewhat shocked that he wanted to be the Emperor. He gets so shy in front of people he doesn't know.

All of the kids did great. They had to memorize all of their lines and they really didn't need many reminders throughout their performance. Very cute!!

May Fair Parade

We were all in the parade for Dream Home this year. It definitely wasn't as much fun as sitting under a nice shady tree watching everyone go by. The boys were all pretty antsy with all of the waiting but we had a fun time anyway.

The boys and I dragged Auntie She-she with us to the fair on Friday afternoon for Kids' Day. As always, they had a blast!! Connor was overjoyed to be able to take off so much with his friends this year. He's growing up so fast!!

Mahlon just insisted on riding the mechanical bull this year.(must have been his PBR experience earlier this year) He actually did pretty well and had a great time!!

We tried to do as much of the livestock exhibits as possible but everyone was just dying from their allergies. Hopefully we'll get more time over in that area next year.

The perfect ending to a long day at the fair...a rainbow in the sky. After all that money that I spent, I was wishing to find my "pot of gold" at the end of it!!

Overnight at Aunt She-She and Logan's in San Fran

The boys were treated to an overnight at Shan & Logan's in the city this past weekend. They had such a great time going to the park, out for pizza, watching movies and munching out at night and the beach next morning. They were so excited because they got to even eat ice cream for lunch the next morning!!
